Wood County Compliance & Building Permit Office 1 Court Square – Suite 204 – Parkersburg, WV 26101 - 304-424-1988 BID SPECIFICATIONS Property Description: Structures needing demolished are located at 89 Washington Heights, Parkersburg WV 26101 – A dilapidated multi-story residential structure on block concrete foundation with a lower basement, as well as dilapidated storage building on the parcel behind the residential structure. Description of work to be bid: The property contains 1 dilapidated multi-story residential structure and an older storage building/structure which are both to be demolished and removed. The main work of the project is for the demolition and removal, in its entirety, the multi-story home as well as the dilapidated storage building structure behind the home. All demolished materials, debris, refuse, junk, and trash will need to be removed from property. Successful bidder will be responsible for the disconnection of all utilities prior to demolition (if not already disconnected), along with conducting a proper asbestos inspection, testing, and abatement. The asbestos inspection, testing, and abatement is the responsibility of the contractor and therefore part of the bid. There will be a demolition permit required and a cleared asbestos report BEFORE any demolition begins. Materials removed from the site are to be disposed of in a licensed asbestos landfill. Further, any disturbed land will be graded, seeded, and covered with straw upon completion. ***Demolition of the structure will be completed within 30 days from the date the contractor is notified of the Awarded bid. Items to be removed from property include but not limited to: A. All Remains of the multi-story home as well as the dilapidated storage building, along with all junk/debris/trash/refuse from the demolition.
