The City of Seattle is soliciting bids to establish multiple contracts with interested and qualified vendors to supply water treatment chemicals on an “as-needed” basis for a multi-year period. Vendors must be able to provide a continuous supply of chemicals, as required by the specifications for Seattle Public Utilities water treatment facilities. The City requires chemical supplies for use at multiple locations, primarily Seattle Public Utilities water treatment facilities. The successful bidder(s) will be responsible for supply, transport and delivery of the chemicals to the facilities in a safe and secure manner as defined in the specifications. Facility locations and the estimated annual quantities for each chemical are identified in the specifications. The City anticipates spending approximately $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 annually for the chemicals being purchased through this solicitation. These estimated quantities are for planning purposes and do not guarantee a purchase volume.The City currently has contract #3667 with JCI Jones Chemicals to supply sodium hypochlorite and #4357 with Dubois Chemicals to supply hydrofluorosilicic acid, but these contracts are due to be rebid. The City has bundled these along with other water treatment chemicals into this one solicitation for new contracts.
