Description

The City of Lake Stevens is seeking bids from qualified, responsive, and responsible contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to prepare, repair, paint, and clean up five (5) city-owned buildings. The scope includes surface preparation, necessary repairs prior to painting, paint application, and post-project cleanup. Project Locations • 10515 20th St SE, Lake Stevens, WA 98258 • 10519 20th St SE, Lake Stevens, WA 98258 • 1819 South Lake Stevens Rd., Lake Stevens, WA 98258 • 1825 South Lake Stevens Rd., Lake Stevens, WA 98258 • 10518 18th St SE, Lake Stevens, WA 98258 Scope of Work a. Inspect all exterior surfaces, including siding, trim, doors, soffits, and other painted building components, to identify and repair damaged areas prior to painting. b. Clean and prepare all surfaces to be painted, including power washing, scraping, sanding, and removing all loose or peeling paint, dirt, mildew, and debris. Ensure proper surface preparation in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations for exterior paint systems. c. Perform minor repairs as needed, such as patching holes, caulking joints or seams, and replacing small sections of damaged wood or trim, as necessary, to ensure a sound substrate for painting. Extensive repairs or replacements exceeding routine preparation must be approved by the City of Lake Stevens prior to proceeding. d. Protect all adjacent surfaces, fixtures, and landscaping from overspray, drips, and damage during preparation and painting. Install drop cloths, plastic sheeting, or canvas tarps on all ground surfaces, decks, and adjacent horizontal surfaces. Apply masking film, tape, and protective barriers on windows, doors, trim, fixtures, and surfaces not intended for painting. Install temporary barriers or signage when painting near sidewalks, roadways, parking lots, or shared community spaces. e. All exterior signage located within the work area shall be fully removed prior to surface preparation and painting. Signage shall be stored in a clean, secure area to prevent damage during painting operations. After the paint has fully cured, all signage shall be reinstalled in its original location using proper fasteners and ensuring alignment, stability, and compliance with any applicable mounting standards. f. Contractor shall be responsible for restoring any damage caused to property during execution of the work. g.
