Building Maintenance Division September 1, 2026 ADDENDUM NO. 1 CHILLER REPLACEMENT – GARLAND CENTER This Addendum No. 1 shall be considered part of the Bid Documents for the above-mentioned project as though it had been issued at the same time and shall be incorporated integrally therewith. Where provisions of the following supplementary data differ from those of the original bid documents, this Addendum shall govern and take precedence. Firms are hereby notified that they shall make any necessary adjustments in their bid package as a result of this Addendum. It will be construed that each firm’s package is submitted with full knowledge of all modifications and supplemental data specified herein. Bidders shall acknowledge receipt of this addendum on the outside of their bid packages. ** BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED UNTIL 2:00 PM, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH, AT THE PUBLIC WORKS – MOC LOCATED AT 1300 N BROAD ST, GASTONIA, NC 28054. Contractor Requests for Information (RFI’s): 1. RFI: Do you know if this chiller is on any form of control system? And if so, would you be able to provide a screenshot of the front end with the chiller on it? RESPONSE: The chiller will be controlled by a building automa on system. The chiller installa on company will need to provide a BACnet Interface Card on the new chiller. The connec on to the system will be completed by others. 2. RFI: Would the City be willing to accept our proposal with a Carrier option, or are you only accepting the Trane chiller? RESPONSE: Provide a base bid quote for the Trane chiller and an alternate quote for any proposed subs tu on, including suppor ng jus fica on. 3. RFI: Please provide electrical breaker information. RESPONSE: The chiller is connected to the u lity-owned pad-mounted transformer. The City Electrical Department will de-energize the transformer to allow the chiller contractor to remove and install the new chiller. The chiller will need to have a service entrance-rated integral control panel with fused disconnec ng means mounted independent of the chiller. 4. RFI: I see that a bid bond is required, will performance and payment bonds be required as well? RESPONSE: Performance and payment bonds are not required for this project. 5. RFI: It states in the package to not include sales tax in the bid proposal. Is the sales tax for materials purchased to be invoiced as a separate line item for this project? RESPONSE: Applicable sales tax should be applied to the invoices, as submi ed.
