RFP 26-022 Mass Communications System Question and Answer Addendum 2 1) Will a proposal without SMS/MMS short-code messaging capabilities, or one with an alternative proposed be considered? No we need the short code capability. 2) What PA system (brand, make/model) does ATU currently use? Not using anything like this at the moment. 3) What is the average volume of SMS used per semester or year? 10,000 per message. Per semester around 50,000. During a busy semester with a lot of winter closings, etc. closer to 150,000 possible. 4) Why does ATU prefer short-code over typical SMS? When we refer to short code we are referring to the capability of a user to text a keyword to an SMS shortcode to temporarily register for mass notification system. We use this for camps, conferences, and visitors on campus. 5) Does ATU use any other systems with which the solution should be able to integrate? If so, please provide the brand and make/model. We are currently using alertus products through CAP to trigger.
