Yard Trash Grinding and Hauling

Description

Volusia County Solid Waste Division operates the Tomoka Farms Road Landfill located at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Port Orange, Florida 32128 and the West Volusia Transfer Station located at 3151 E. New York Avenue, DeLand, Florida 32724.  The County of Volusia is soliciting bids from qualified vendors to process by grinding mixed and/or segregated yard trash, land clearing debris and dimensional lumber at both facilities.  Woody debris materials shall be processed in place at both facilities with an option to haul away processed product to Tomoka Farms Road Landfill located at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Port Orange, Florida 32128 from West Volusia Transfer Station or at an approved off- site facility.  The use of the mulch at the receiving facility or subsequent locations must constitute recycling or beneficial reuse (such as boiler, biomass, waste-to-energy, fuel, or composting) in accordance with guidelines established by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. On average, the County processes approximately one hundred and twenty-six thousand tons (126,000) tons of yard trash, land clearing debris and dimensional lumber annually. The County makes no guarantee as to the amount or weight of any material to be processed.
