The County of Yuba wishes to retain a professional consultant to assess four community pillars in West Linda; facilities, wrap around human services, transportation and recreation, here in referred to as the Project.The County is committed to supporting a thriving community and holistic development as West Linda continues to evolve, with redevelopment projects underway and on the horizon. In 2021, Yuba County partnered with the Regional Housing Authority and a private development team to construct a 149-unit housing project; including 108 income qualified units and 41 units of permanent supportive housing. Furthermore, Yuba County Public Works has received funding for active transportation projects (ATP), connecting students to Cedar Lane Elementary School through sidewalks, bike lanes, drainage infrastructure, and improved cross walks. Public Works also maintains the West Linda active transportation grid as a top priority, and is seeking funding to improve additional multi-modal transportation infrastructure for all.Complementary to these efforts, the County retains a one (1) acre parcel adjacent to Cedar Lane and Alicia Avenue, and seeks to develop a community service hub inspired by the needs of West Linda residents. While many organizations serve the community, gaps in facilities, wrap around human services, transportation and recreation exist. The purpose of the Project shall be to identify needs in each focus area and provide recommendations rooted in diverse community engagement. This needs assessment will guide the future development phase of the parcel.
