Water Reclamation Facility East Plant Expansion Design

Description

The City of Apopka seeks qualified firms to provide environmental engineering services for a Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) expansion design project to meet the City's growing wastewater treatment demands. The City seeks to increase the operation capacity of its WRF from its current 5 MGD to up to 15 MGD, while ensuring uninterrupted wastewater treatment operations and continued public access to reclaimed water. The engineering services should include comprehensive planning, preliminary design report, final design, permitting, bidding assistance, and construction administration.The current WRF underwent an expansion and renovation in 2015 to bring its permitted capacity to 8 MGD (5 MGD for the East Plant and 3 MGD for the West Plant). Due to rapid growth and development in the Apopka area, the current facility is projected to meet its operating capacity within the next five years, necessitating this expansion to accommodate current demands and future growth projections.
