August 21, 2026 RFP 26-004- Vendor Questions & CWU’s Response 1. What is the quantity of mattresses you're looking for? Answer: 100-250 is the average amount that are purchased each year. 2. Do you have specifications for the mattresses? Answer: We would like to keep all the specifications except for the Upholstery spec. Our mattresses with this construction have been great and durable year over year. Please see page 3 of this document for mattress specifications. 3. Category 1- Enhanced Safety Features When evaluating equipment proposals, does the University place additional value on builtin safety technologies designed to help prevent or mitigate fire and smoke risks without requiring any action from the student? If so, will the effectiveness and reliability of these safety features be considered when comparing proposals with otherwise similar specifications and pricing? Answer: CWU Housing places value on any safety technology that is designed to mitigate smoke and fire risk. We would like to consider those specs when comparing similar products 4. Category 2 Are the microwaves listed under Category 2 intended to be stand-alone, countertop microwave units?". Answer: Yes 5. What is the quantity on each of the items requested"? Answer: 50-60 per year. 6. What is the expected timeframe for delivery? Will this happen all at once or in stages? Answer: All at once is preferred but is dependent on shipment piece count. 7. Are we removing old units? Or just installing new? Answer: No. 8. Are you requiring us to quote cords for the ranges? Answer: Yes, CWU has both 10-50 and 14-50 style outlets. How many floors is each building? Will there be elevator access to lift appliances and mattresses?. Answer: The Housing buildings at CWU are from one to four floors.
