Tucson Police Department (TPD) Firing Range

Description

This project consists of constructing two new firearms training facilities for the Tucson Police Department which will be located at the CoT Public Safety Training Academy at 10001 S. Wilmot Rd., Tucson, AZ. There is a Virtual Training Building and a 300yd Outdoor Firing Range and each will be priced separately. Separate contracts will be awarded for the Training Building and Outdoor Firing Range. Contractors may choose to bid the Virtual Training Building, the 300yd Outdoor Firing Range or both Bid Items.The first facility involves the construction of a new Virtual Training Building which will be located West of the existing Firearms Training Facility at the North end of the Training Academy. This building will be an approximate 2.223sf block structure which matches and/or complements the existing Training Buildings. The Virtual Training Building will have a virtual training area, classroom style training space and (2) restrooms. All work associated with the new Virtual Training Building will be identified as Bid Item (1).The second facility is a new 300yd Outdoor Firing Range. This static range will be surrounded on three sides with an earthen berm to prevent projectiles from escaping the range area. A covered firing line will be constructed at the 300yd mark and intermediate concrete slab on grade firing positions will be constructed at various distances. A shooting tower will be constructed next to the covered firing line. This tower will have multiple roof types installed to simulate various shooting scenarios.
