The City of Lakeland (“City”) is requesting bids from qualified and experienced contractors to provide all required equipment fabrication, administration, materials, tools, permits, equipment, labor, supervision related to the proposed Taxiway A Shoulders and Holding Bay at Lakeland Linder International Airport.This airfield development project includes the construction of 30-foot-wide paved shoulders along the existing Taxiway A, extending from Runway 5-23 to Taxiway A1. The scope of work includes the construction of 30-foot-wide paved shoulders as the base bid. Bid Alternate 1 includes the construction of a holding bay area designed using Taxiway Design Group (TDG) V criteria, which incorporates a single entrance taxiway and two exit taxiways. The project also involves the installation of a new drainage network to serve the proposed holding bay, along with the placement of new inlets within the grass infield areas. Additional elements include pavement markings, grading of airfield infield areas, and installation of sod within the limits of grading.Further, the project includes isolated pavement rehabilitation at the intersection of Taxiway A and Runway 5-23 to address an existing rutting issue. The electrical scope involves the installation of LED edge lighting and signage, conversion of existing lighting through the installation of elevated light fixtures in the proposed shoulder areas, and the installation of a new duct bank and conduit system to support the updated infrastructure.Depending on available funding, Bid Alternate 1 may not be awarded.
