Description

The City of Pontiac, in coordination with NTH Consultants, Ltd., is undertaking a project to remove underground storage tanks (USTs) and associated fueling system components at two municipal sites: the Oakland County Police Department and the Waterford Township Fire Department Station #7. Both facilities currently contain aging underground fuel storage infrastructure that is no longer required for operations and must be decommissioned in compliance with state and federal environmental regulations. The scope of work includes the decommissioning, removal, and disposal of the USTs, fuel dispensers, venting systems, piping, ballast pads, and electrical components. The project also requires site restoration, including excavation backfilling, compaction, and pavement replacement to match existing grades and drainage conditions. Contractors will be required to coordinate closely with City staff and facility representatives to ensure continued access and safe operation of emergency service facilities during construction.
