Washington County is actively engaging in a variety of policy and budgetary efforts with the Oregon State Legislature. During the 2023 session, the County is seeking the support of an experienced lobbyist or lobbying team to support those efforts. As the second largest county in the state, and with a wide variety of services and community needs to meet, there are a variety of subject matters and areas of policy that need monitoring and engagement by the county in the long session. In addition, there are priorities for which the County is seeking state funding that needs to be managed through the ways and means during session. Washington County's Board of Commissioners has already adopted an agenda for the 2023 session and work will prioritize specific needs as identified in the document. In addition, work will focus on addressing legislation and state budget proposals that may impact county services or revenues based on county principles.
