This program is designed to support rising high school seniors in exploring health-related careers and STEM fields. Participants earn three college credits through an Introduction to Health Professions course, which provides a comprehensive overview of healthcare careers and the roles of various professionals. In addition to academic coursework, students participate in an immersive on-campus residential experience that includes didactic, observational, and hands-on experiential learning. Activities feature approximately 15 interactive workshops such as healthcare professional shadowing, suturing techniques, simulations, wellness and nutrition education, and more. The program will also include campus tours, certification opportunities, and a community service project, all aimed at deepening students’ understanding of and interest in health and STEM professions. This program must be housed at a Mississippi-based public university to ensure alignment with statewide educational goals and to provide students with access to in-state resources, faculty, and facilities that support health and STEM career pathways.
