The City of Santa Cruz (City) has completed a draft Safety Action Plan that identifies transportation safety needs and potential projects within the City. The City is evaluating a potential application for Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Cycle 13 funding to implement safety and multimodal improvements along Soquel Avenue between River Street South and Seabright Avenue. The Consultant shall coordinate closely with City staff and use the City's draft Safety Action Plan, available traffic data, development-related traffic studies, and other available information to evaluate the proposed improvements. The City seeks a qualified transportation engineering consultant (Consultant) to evaluate the proposed project, develop planning-level design information sufficient to support cost estimating, and provide traffic analysis and documentation necessary to support the HSIP Cycle 13 grant application. The potential project aims to increase corridor safety by reducing speeds and providing greater separation and visibility of modal users within existing right of way.
