Project Background and Objectives Pursuant to N.C.G.S. § 143-64.31, Transylvania County (“County”) is requesting a Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified, engineering firms registered and operating in the state of North Carolina. This request is to provide a comprehensive study of the of the operation methods of Transylvania County Landfill, as well as provide a direction for the future of the landfill operation, design and construction oversight needs. Responses to the RFQ will be used to determine the relative qualifications of various firms to perform the scope of work and tasks specified. The County is seeking a firm/organization with demonstrated experience in the process of studying landfill operations, knowledge of alternative methods for the future needs of solid waste, cost analysis of those methods, and an in-depth analysis of the site to confirm a future of the specified location. A. Information and Requirements Location of Project: Transylvania County Landfill, 500 Howell Road, Brevard, NC 28712 Description of Project: Transylvania County would like a full comprehensive study to be conducted of Transylvania County Landfill facility current methods and to determine the future needs of the facility. 2.
