Soils/Materials Testing - FY25 Consulting Engineering Services Indefinite Quantity Contract

Description

The City of Norfolk Department of Public Works is seeking proposals from qualified professional engineering firms to provide services on an as-required basis to provide soils/materials testing and consulting engineering services.  The City intends to enter into a annual, renewable Agreement with the firm selected to provide these services.  Other related government organizations or agencies may be allowed to issue Work Orders under this Contract, as permitted by the City.  The City will provide a scope of services for each specific request for engineering services required under the Agreement.  A request for services may include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:Conduct materials testing in accordance with ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards using both destructive and non-destructive techniques and provide reports.  Hazardous material tests, evaluation and design of remediation may also be requested.Conduct materials testing in accordance with VDOT specifications.Conduct concrete testing including strength evaluation, petrographic, and chloride analysis for new or existing structures.Conduct soil testing including classification, density, and proctor analysis.  Soil investigation may include reports recommending pavement design, storm water BMPs (Best Management Practices), and alternative designs.Conduct other material testing required in construction project specifications as “Special Inspections.”  Inspections may include soils, concrete, steel, or other construction materials.Provide geotechnical consultation and other engineering services as required.
