SPECIFICATIONS AND BID DOCUMENTS RFP # 2026-019 Settlers Park Exercise Equipment Office of the First Selectman 501 Main Street South Southbury, CT August 5, 2026 Town of Southbury 2026-019 Settlers Park RFP 08.05.2026 Invitation to Bid Settlers Park Exercise Equipment RFP # 2026-019 The Town of Southbury invites proposals from certified equipment vendors and installers for an exercise equipment area at Settlers Park. To be considered, proposals must be submitted to the First Selectman’s Office, 501 Main Street South, Southbury, CT 06488 by 12 pm on August 27, 2026. Bids must be sealed and clearly state the bid name and number. One hard copy and one flash drive must be furnished. The Town reserves the right to reject any proposals submitted for any reason at all. The town reserves the right to interview proposers as part of the evaluation process. It is anticipated the selection of a company will be completed by September 4, 2026. A contract will be prepared and approved by the First Selectman and Board of Selectmen. All bidders are invited attend a site walk, if needed; on August 17, 2026 at 10:00 am to review the park and pose any questions needed to complete this bid. Contact Parks and Recreation Director, Meghan Lennon at 203-262-0633 or mlennon@southburyct.gov Town of Southbury 2026-019 Settlers Park RFP 08.05.2026 Scope of Work There is an existing 60 X 30ft cement slab at Settlers Park in between our current playground and tree line where we are looking to add cardio and strength exercise equipment suitable for all ages (from children to seniors), all fitness levels, and those with disabilities. We are open to different configurations for what can fit in this area. We are interested in an arm bike (aka an upper body ergometer or hand cycle), an upright bike, a recumbent bike, and/or an elliptical for cardio equipment. We are interested in equipment for functional pushing and pulling, such as push-up bars, inclusive parallel bars, an inclusive dip bench, pull-up bars, a climbing rope, an inclusive double chest press, and/or a suspension trainer. We are interested in core strengthening equipment such as a sit-up bench or leg lift, and a balance element. For the lower body, we are interested in steps such as adjustable steps/assisted steps/plyo blocks, wall ball targets, or any other obstacles that may fit in the space. We are interested in instructional signs alongside equipment.
