Sacramento International Airport Materials Testing Laboratory

Description

This Project consists of constructing a new 3,280 square-foot (SF) permanent building for use as a Materials Testing Laboratory (Lab), which will be used to test concrete, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and soil for the Department’s construction projects at Sacramento International Airport.  This lab will support SMForward projects currently underway and those to come. It will enhance efficiency and reduce time, allowing for more efficient decisions.  The project site is located on North Bayou Road, south of the Airport’s West Economy Lot exit.The building will include laboratory space with specialized testing instruments, all calibrated and certified to comply with regulatory standards.  The Lab will also include a concrete curing room, a curing tank room, and a storage room for nuclear gauge equipment.  Office space will be provided for lab personnel and include one Manager/Supervisor office, four workstations, an open office area, a break room and a restroom.  Exterior spaces include an attached 508 SF shaded work and equipment area, a concrete washout basin, an area for storage shipping containers, dumpsters, and a parking lot for eight vehicles including one accessible parking space.  The entire site and building will be secured by a chain-link fence with gate access. Bid line items includes Construction and Equipment required for the Material Testing Lab.
