The Runway 8R-26L Rehabilitation and Taxiway A2 Removal project will consist of a variable-depth mill (approx. 0.5-inches to 7-inches) and overlay with 3-inches of new asphalt pavement on the entire surface of Runway 8R-26L. There is also a 3-inch mill and overlay on connecting Taxiways A1, A4, A5, and A7-A12 up to the Runway Safety Areas (RSA), ( approx. 250-feet from runway centerline). A P-608 Seal Coat will be applied to any pavements between the mill and overlay and the Runway Hold Position Markings. Cracks and defects will be repaired on the exposed asphalt surface before the application of a new 3-inch layer of asphalt. This project will also include saw cut grooving (on RW 8R-26L) and application of pavement markings. This project will also include the removal of all pavement and electrical infrastructure for Taxiway A2, and regrading of the safety area infield.Additional work items during the Runway 8R-26L Rehabilitation and Taxiway A2 Removal project will include minor modifications to electrical infrastructure along Runway 8R-26L and associated connecting taxiways, (resulting from removal of Taxiway A2). If sufficient funding is available, this project will also include the removal and replacement of the existing airfield lighting and signage infrastructure along Runway 8R-26L (Additive Alternate No. 1 - Bid Schedule II), as well as improvements to the existing electrical vault and replacement of the Airport Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ALCMS), (Additive Alternate No. 2 – Bid Schedule III).
