RFQ for Hernando County Public Safety Training Facility

Provide overall site master planning, design, permitting, bidding documents and construction administration to plan and construct a new Public Safety Training Facility.To fulfill the operational needs of the Public Safety Departments and Offices in Hernando County, a specific training facility will be constructed.The facility must take into account the current and anticipated training needs and functions of both the Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services and the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.The site will require the installation of infrastructure that is able to support and sustain the planned improvements. These include, but are not limited to, well and water storage, electrical, technology and roads, none of which are currently available on the site. Rezoning to a Public Service Overlay is currently in progress. Known environmental issues with the wastewater produced by firefighting activities and lead from the shooting ranges will be addressed through design. Additional environmental studies shall be conducted to ensure a compatible use is maintained and no flora, fauna or wildlife is impacted. Area road infrastructure will likely require the widening of the roadway to allow for ingress and egress to the site without major impacts to existing traffic patterns.Other programs and building improvements are included in the overall master plan are identified in further detail in the attached programming document.
