Skokomish Indian Tribe 80 North Tribal Center Road, Skokomish, WA. 98584 | P: (360) 426-4232 F: (360) 877-5943 Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Requested by the Skokomish Indian Tribe Services will include the creation of 2 Salish-style cedar strip canoes, including purchasing of materials, 24 yellow cedar paddles and two trailers suitable for hauling the canoes. Preference in the award of this contract will be given first to Skokomish Tribal members, and then to members of other tribes as per the Skokomish Indian Tribe’s tribal preference policy. Winning contractor will be expected to purchase all materials, tools and a trailer(s) necessary to complete the project. Project must be completed no later than April 03, 2026. Qualifications Successful candidates must have the following minimum qualifications: 1. Knowledge of trees, wood and tools necessary for building a canoe 2. Demonstrated experience in building canoes 3. Ability to work with, teach and be part of a team 4. Canoe building must be completed by April 03, 2026 The following qualifications are highly preferred: 1. Knowledgeable of Skokomish Tribal culture 2. Experience working for/with an Indian Tribe 3. Demonstrated experience in building canoes for use in cultural activities 4. Knowledge in the selection of suitable materials Quote / Proposal Process For consideration, submit a quote or proposal that includes the information numbered below. Note that the building of 2 canoes, purchasing materials and tools required to build the canoes and the purchase of two trailers is included in this solicitation request.
