The selected consultant or consultant team will provide services related to subarea planning between Broadway Drive and Edgewood Drive (CTH JJ) and 60% stormwater preliminary engineering design and permitting for proposed Sommers Drive from Spartan Drive to Edgewood Drive (CTH JJ). The City of Appleton is seeking a qualified planning and engineering team to work collaboratively with the Community Development and Public Works Departments to lead a comprehensive, community-based planning and engineering process. The project is intended to result in a professionally developed subarea plan and preliminary engineering plans that respond to the needs and character of the surrounding neighborhoods while advancing the goals and recommendations of the City's updated Comprehensive Plan, Plan Appleton (2025). The planning and engineering process should be highly coordinated and complementary, with the subarea plan establishing a clear vision for future land use, development, connectivity, and neighborhood character, while the engineering component evaluates infrastructure needs and opportunities to support that vision. Only portions of Spartan Drive have been improved to City standards at this time.
