What is the subbase material underneath the existing poured-in-place rubber surfacing? a. Stone 2. Can the single upright, for the shade structure to be installed over the small play structure, be installed in the area of shredded rubber and sand immediately adjacent to the poured rubber and concrete curb? a. Yes 3. What is the total budget for this project? a. Award of the contract will be made to the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder whose proposal meets the specifications and requirements outlined in this RFP. 4. Do you have a rendering that shows the desired location of the shade posts? a. No 5. What colors are preferred for the shade fabrics and posts? a. The color scheme should match the existing park colors 6. What is the timeframe for having these new shades installed? a. The proposal requirements request that respondents provide a timeline. 7. Do the dimensions you provided in the RFP have the space needed to stay out of the use zone of the equipment intended to be covered? a. Yes 8. Does the height of each shade provide the clearance needed above the play components? a. Yes 9. Is permitting required for this project? a. Yes, a building permit from the City of West Columbia would be required. Additionally, as a reminder, shop drawings must be signed and sealed by a professional engineer licensed in the State of South Carolina. 10. Please confirm which small structure and gliders are preferred for the shade placement. a. The small structure refers to the area at the front right of the park. The glider (aka zipline) is the structure next to the swings that is also to be covered. 11. How will access to the playground equipment be handled, given the existing fence? Will the City be responsible for removing it? a.
