The South Windsor Public Schools is seeking proposals from qualified Contractors to remove one existing 4,000 gallon buried fiberglass fuel oil tank serving the building boiler and to convert the existing oil fired boiler from #2 fuel oil to natural gas. B. The intent of this Request for Proposal is to seek a lump sum price to provide a single turnkey project to excavate and remove the existing tank, soils, piping, fuel inventory system, and manholes and backfill and restore site conditions and to remove the existing oil fired burner and provide the new gas fired burner, gas piping, electrical work and new chimney liner as indicated in the attached Specifications and Summary of Work documents and accompanying Drawings. C. Eversource is engaged in contracts for the installation of the new gas main and meter set. D. The oil tank and piping is presently located under existing lawn areas on the east side of the building. E. Refer to the Project Specifications and Drawings for description of complete scope. F. Work will occur during the Spring of 2025 after the heating season. Expected start date will be around May, 15, 2025. 1.02 PRE-BID CONFERENCE A. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the site on Tuesday, November 26 at 10:00 am in order to acquaint all potential bidders with project site, site conditions and to field technical and administrative questions. Bids will not be accepted from any Contractors who are not present at the pre-bid conference. 1.03 SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS A. Proposals shall include the following information: • • • • • Total lump sum cost of materials, labor, overhead and profit for the Base Bid work. (Tax exempt) Unit Prices for additional work that may be encountered as described in the Specifications.
