North Valley Fiber is a City-owned open access fiber network that serves approximately 9,100 addresses. The City builds, owns, maintains, and operates the physical infrastructure and the active network. Independent Internet Service Providers deliver retail service to subscribers over that infrastructure. The City does not sell retail internet service and does not compete with participating ISPs. Architecture Distributed split, XGS-PON, passive. Plant 100% underground. Service points Underground vaults. A service point exists within approximately 500 feet of each address to be served. Drops Installed by the City's drop installation contractor from the service point to the demarcation point on the premise. Initial service area Approximately 9,100 addresses.
