The County of Sacramento (County) owns and operates the Sacramento International Airport (SMF or Airport) through the Department of Airports (Department). SMF is a commercial service airport located 12 miles from downtown Sacramento. SMF opened in 1967 under its previous name Sacramento Metropolitan Airport, and in the 1990s was renamed Sacramento International Airport. Currently, SMF is best known as the gateway between Northern California destinations and major cities across the United States and the world. Terminal B, Concourse B, and the Automated People Mover (APM) system opened in 2011 as part of a major County capital project called The Big Build. For the past 12-years, the Terminal B systems have served 8 airlines on the 19 existing gates. Based on the current aviation forecast, SMF is improving serviceability and expanding landside capacity including near-in parking to serve 8.2 million enplaned passengers.In accordance with California Public Contract Code (PCC) section 22160 et seq., the Department is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified Design-Build Entities to provide design-build services to construct the New Terminal B Parking Garage (the Project). As contemplated in PCC section 22164, the purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to prequalify or short-list Design-Build Entities whose proposals will be evaluated for final selection.
