Request for Proposal- Contract Social Worker for Crisis Co-Responder Team

Description

The Urbana Police Department is soliciting proposals from qualified providers to bid on a contract for a full-time Social Worker position. This position will operate within a crisis co-responder model, working alongside police officers to respond to in-progress calls and provide follow-up support to individuals exhibiting mental or behavioral health concerns, including suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. The objective is to enhance the well-being of community members through immediate crisis intervention, ongoing support, and connection to appropriate resources. Additionally, this position will support the police department’s efforts and initiatives related to general community engagement, particularly with individuals experiencing mental or behavioral health concerns.
