REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) 26-4081 Fire Plan Examination and Fire Building Inspection Services On-Call / As-Needed Basis 1. Introduction Grimes County is soliciting proposals from qualified firms and individuals to provide Fire Plan Examination and Fire Building Inspection services on an on-call, as-needed basis. The intent of this solicitation is to establish a pool of qualified vendors who can provide services as requested by Grimes County. Selected vendors will be placed on an approved vendor rotation list and assignments will be distributed on a rotating basis to ensure fair and equitable opportunities among participating firms. 2. Scope of Services Selected vendors may be requested to provide one or more of the following services: Fire Plan Examination Services • • • • Review construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings for compliance with applicable fire codes and standards. Review fire protection system plans, including but not limited to: o Fire sprinkler systems o Fire alarm systems o Fire suppression systems o Standpipe systems o Special hazard systems Provide written comments, corrections, and recommendations. Verify compliance with adopted editions of applicable codes and standards. Fire Building Inspection Services • • • • • Conduct inspections of commercial, industrial, multifamily, and institutional occupancies. Perform inspections related to fire protection systems and life safety requirements. Conduct inspections associated with permits and construction projects. Prepare detailed inspection reports identifying deficiencies and corrective actions. Conduct re-inspections as necessary to verify compliance. 3. Applicable Codes and Standards Services shall be performed in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and adopted codes, including but not limited to: • • • • International Fire Code (IFC) 2024 International Building Code (IBC) National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards Local amendments and ordinances adopted by the jurisdiction 4. Minimum Qualifications Respondents shall demonstrate the following minimum qualifications: • Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing fire plan review and/or fire inspection services.
