Iredell County Animal Services is requesting information from competent organization(s) to assist in addressing the stray and owned animal populations within the southern end of Iredell County. Major items of work to be performed by the organization, must be consistent with industry standards and to include operation of an animal shelter in the southern end capable of intaking and processing stray and owned animals. Processing consists of the best course of action for each animal entering your shelter which includes but is not limited to returning animals to their owners, adopting out unclaimed stray or surrendered animals and euthanizing animals. Each animal that is selected for adoption from this organization must be spayed or neutered before they are adopted out. All policies and procedures must follow the NC Department of Agriculture regulations on operating an animal shelter. In 2023 Iredell County brought in 232 dogs and 195 cats from the Mooresville zip codes.
