Request for Information for Automated Transportation Asset Management Technology Solution

Description

The City has applied for a federal grant, the Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grants Program.  The grant application proposed a project to deploy intelligent mobile sensors mounted on city-owned vehicles to collect and report real-time data on urban transportation assets including signage for street safety, wayfinding, pedestrian warnings, and parking restrictions as well as colored curb designations, roadway markings, guardrails, bollards, protected- and unprotected bike lanes, and curbs. The system will detect real-time asset changes or anomalies that undermine citywide transportation safety, reliability, and system performance with all data accessible using an interactive user interface. Work orders for needed replacements and repairs of assets can be generated automatically and ingested by other City systems which track their progress and completion will be verified by follow-up scans using the prototype equipment.The City is hereby seeking information from US-based companies with experience in relevant technology solutions that can meet the business and technical requirements of this RFI. The City currently plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) based on the responses to this RFI in order to select a technology solution from a qualified Contractor. This RFI is intended to assist the City to clearly articulate the baseline technical specifications and requirements for that envisioned RFP.
