The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority ("SORTA"), commonly referred to as Cincinnati Metro seeks bids from qualified organizations or individuals to purchase property that are no longer needed by the Agency.The Blue Ash Subdivision is a 9.6-mile-long, stub-ended, single-track railroad corridor which extends north and east from Lester Road in the Pleasant Ridge neighborhood of Cincinnati to Fields Ertel Road in Symmes Township, Hamilton County. The SORTA-owned property totals approximately 59 acres. The corridor runs through Cincinnati, Silverton, Deer Park, and Blue Ash as well as Columbia and Sycamore Townships. The railroad mileposts run from north to south (MP 39.7.0 at Fileds Ertel Road to MP 49.6 at Lester Road). Cincinnati Metro purchased this property from the Indiana and Ohio Railway (IORY) in 1997 with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) assistance for potential implementation of light rail transit service.
