Request for Proposal: Mental Health Community and Crisis Services Network The City of Gary (The City) Ques ons pertaining to the Request for Proposal (RFP) documents may be directed to The Gary Health Department in wri ng by email to cgunn@gary.gov no later than February 10th, 2025 by 11:59 pm Central Standard Time. The City of Gary seeks organiza ons to support the Mental Health Community and Crisis Services Network ini a ve in Gary, Indiana. This program encourages the collabora on of grassroots agencies, individual prac oners, and community organiza ons to create a community network of access to mental health services access, crisis response connec ons, addic on services, and youth engagement services. These community-based supports can help avoid unnecessary emergency care or police engagement and dispari es in access and quality of services. That diverts people away from the criminal jus ce system and into community-based mental health services that would bene t them. Mental Health and Addic on Systems Access – Organiza ons that are looking to support current opera ons and programs and/or establish new approaches that align with the following needs: o Behavioral Health workforce development with a par cular focus on developing a workforce that is representa ve of the popula on being served o Serious Mental Illness (SMI) support, educa on, and/or resources o Community awareness and educa on o Linkage tools and/or personnel to services o Innova ve and e ec ve services focused on trauma o Address community barriers to accessing care, including transporta on, s gma reduc on, and insurance coverage o Other supports, educa on, and services ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ti ff ti ti ti ti fi ti ti Youth Mental Health Systems Access– Organiza ons that are looking to support current opera ons and programs and/or establish new approaches that align with the following needs: o Con ict resolu on and other preven on support for youth and/or families to help prevent individuals from entering the jus ce system and/or for those individuals coming out of the system.
