DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANIZATION The Navajo Family Violence Program (NFVP) is a dedicated initiative within the Navajo Division for Children and Family Services, aimed at addressing and mitigating the effects of domestic and family violence within the Navajo Nation. By integrating seamlessly with other division programs and departments, NFVP promotes comprehensive, culturally responsive support services prioritizing safety, healing, and empowerment for affected individuals and families. Key components of the NFVP include specialized case workers trained in domestic and family violence issues who provide individualized support, crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, and coordination of community resources. These professionals collaborate closely with existing tribal programs to ensure a holistic and culturally sensitive approach, fostering resilient families and safer communities. The Division for Children and Family Services integration enhances communication, optimizes resource allocation, and strengthens collaborative efforts across various services, including child welfare, mental health, substance abuse treatment, and legal support.
