Professional Design Services for Downtown Parking Garage

Description

The City of Clermont is seeking Statements of Qualifications from experienced architectural and engineering firms to provide professional planning and design services for a proposed multi-level public parking garage in downtown Clermont. The project is intended to increase public parking capacity, support downtown businesses and civic activities, and provide a safe, efficient, durable, and visually attractive public facility.The selected consultant will evaluate two proposed City-owned locations: 705 7th Street near Minneola Avenue and the south City Hall parking lot adjacent to 685 W. Montrose Street near W. Desoto Street. The consultant will assist a City-appointed committee in comparing the locations and identifying a preferred site and garage concept.The City has not yet selected the final project-delivery method. Following site and concept selection, the City may proceed using either:Design-Bid-Build, under which the selected consultant may complete the design, permitting, construction documents, construction procurement assistance, construction administration, and closeout services; orDesign-Build, under which the selected consultant may serve as the City’s design criteria professional, prepare the design criteria package, assist with the procurement of a design-build firm, and provide design-review and construction-compliance services.Services will be authorized by phase and shall not proceed without the City’s prior written authorization.
