This project is the establishment of the first phases of a recycled water utility at the Presidio of Monterey. It involves repairing a 200,000 gallon water tank, running pipes to hilltop field, connecting building 630 to the water tank, and connecting the Presidio of Monterey Cemetery to be irrigated by water from the tank. In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to, underground directional drilling for the installation of recycled water mains and conduit, trenching and backfill, plumbing, installing low voltage and communications wiring for power and control of system components, installing sensors, actuators, and controllers for operating the system, programming a control system, installing power panels, installing water tanks, and water pumps, connecting a cemetery irrigation system, connecting an existing grey water treatment system, installation of a chlorine treatment systems, and making safety improvements and structural upgrades to the existing 200,000 gallon concrete water tank. Structural upgrades to the concrete water tank include, but are not limited to: spot repairing spalling concrete, adding a railing, reinforcing the top exterior of the tank with fiberglass, and installing and modifying piping and vents.
