Greenville County is seeking proposals for the Soil and Water Conservation District. Soil and Water maintains nine flood-control dams built under federal Public Law 566. The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service built the dams on private property in the 1960's and 70's. The earthen dams and auxiliary spillways require mowing once a year to deter woody vegetation that could negatively impact the dam structure. These dams are located in the Huff Creek, Rabon Creek and South Tyger River watersheds. The dams range in size between 2.8 acres and 11.9 acres as shown on the bid documents attached.
