Park Avenue Water Main Replacement

Description

This project consists of two separate water main installations located at the intersection of Park Avenue and Ridgewood Avenue in conjunction with proposed FDOT modifications. The existing asbestos cement (ACP) 6-Inch water main on the southwest corner of said intersection will be replaced with +/-120 LF of 6-Inch PVC water main in the American Hardware store parking lot. A portion of this main will be ductile iron material, as shown on the contract drawings. Additionally, a proposed 12-Inch water main +/-1,450 LF in length is to be installed via open-cut on the east side of Whetzel Street and Western Avenue, crossing under Ridgewood Avenue via directional drill, then open-cutting on the west side of Wilkinson and reduces to an 8-inch to connect to the existing 8-inch along East Park Avenue.Bid Alternate 1 Includes grouting and filling +/-400 LF of 6-inch and 8-inch ACP water mains abandoned with this project and installing two (2) fire hydrants on the new water main.Bid Alternate 2 includes the Removal of 300 LF of ACP water main and replacement with an 8-inch PVC water main along East Park Avenue.The City may award the Base Bid and any combination of the Bid Alternates that budget is available for. The City's current budget for this project is $750,000.00.
