Five years ago, the City of St. Petersburg ("City") is soliciting bids for the purchase of at-home composting bins to residents of the City. This would allow residents to create high-quality compost to be used in their own garden or at community gardens and would also remove some compostable material from the solid-waste stream. Orbis Corporation was chosen as the vendor by the Sanitation Department and since then they have been the only company that can provided us with the composting bins needed for our residents.
