Operation and Management Capital Region East Operating Committee (CREOC) Regional Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Events

Description

The Capital Region East Operating Committee (“CREOC”) is requesting proposals for the operation, including collection and disposal of household hazardous wastes by a licensed hazardous waste management firm (hereinafter the "Contractor"), from the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event Location. The Contractor shall be a licensed hazardous waste management firm; registered under the DEEP’s General Permit to perform one day collections of certain wastes and household hazardous waste; hold a valid hazardous waste transporter permit; and be a certified PaintCare handler. Theses collection events provide service to 8 participating municipalities at a drop-off site located at 321 Olcott Street, Manchester CT and typically has a satellite collection, once per year, at a participating municipality. We are looking to hold nine (9) days per year between March and November. Additional collections may be held based on demand. Interested hazardous waste management firms should submit proposals covering the scope of services delineated in this Request for Proposals to the Town of Manchester which is acting as agent for CREOC and the participating municipalities. It is the intention of CREOC and the participating municipalities that the events be operated in an efficient and flexible manner to provide the best and most cost-effective service possible.
