Dallas County, TX has prioritized incorporating UAS/robotics technology into its Smart County vision as part of its drive to modernize County processes and services by leveraging cutting-edge technology. A variety of use cases for UAS and robotics technology are being considered as part of the County’s Smart County strategy, including drone delivery applications, surveilling/monitoring applications, facility management, as well as a range of public safety applications.As Dallas County determines its priority outcomes and evaluates the process efficiencies and return on investment that the emerging UAS/robotics market can deliver to local government operations, the North Texas Innovation Alliance (NTXIA) is issuing this Call for Innovation in partnership with the County to invite both emerging and established UAS/robotics vendors to demonstrate their products for Dallas County leadership and department stakeholders. The goal is to familiarize departments with the technologies available to them and to allow County stakeholders to evaluate the potential process efficiencies that can be achieved by local governments in deploying UAS/robotics technology. The information gathered in the demo day will help Dallas County stakeholders determine KPIs and evaluation criteria as they move forward and implement new UAS/robotics technologies.
