September 4, 2026 INVITATION TO BID Please note, the City of Auburn is updating its online bid notification system to better communicate with those interested in bidding on City Projects. To receive notifications bidders need to register in the City’s Vendor Self Service (VSS) System. Those already registered in VSS will need to add their NIGP commodity codes. Previously entered codes were removed from all vendor records in VSS during the system update. Please note, NIGP commodity codes are required for vendors to receive bid notifications. Sealed bids will be received by the City of Auburn, Alabama, until 11:00 a.m., local time, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in the Office of the City Manager, 144 Tichenor Avenue, and then be publicly opened and read at the City Meeting Room, 122-B Tichenor Avenue, for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the completion of the following project: NORTH DONAHUE DRIVE WIDENING PHASE I The project will widen North Donahue Drive from Shug Jordan Parkway to Sougahatchee Creek to provide a five-lane roadway. The improvements include a 10-foot-wide multiuse path on the west side of the roadway and a 5-foot-wide sidewalk on the east side. The widened roadway will provide dual northbound and southbound lanes to improve traffic flow and safety. A decorative mast arm traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Shug Jordan Parkway. In addition, one or two new signalized intersections may be constructed as part of the project through an allowance pay item, depending on the surrounding project’s progress. The estimated construction cost range for this project is $14,160,000 to $17,310,000. There will be a MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING at 11:00 a.m. local time Monday, September 14, 2026, at the Development Services Building, located at 171 North Ross Street, Auburn, AL. Attendance by a representative of each biding contractor is required. Failure to attend will result in the bid being deemed non-responsive. Plans, specifications, and contract documents will available for viewing, free of charge, at www.auburnalabama.org/bids. Plans and specifications may be obtained by prime contractor bidders electronically at no charge via email by request.
