The City of Gainesville’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs (PRCA) manages approximately 3,200 acres of conservation lands within a complex system of properties that contain a variety of ecosystems in various states of ecological succession. Invasive exotic plant species are among the greatest threats to these ecosystems, and there exists a need to hire a firm to conduct terrestrial invasive plant removal activities (including follow up and long-term maintenance) to continue improving RFP and/or restoring these public lands. In addition to invasive plant management, treatment projects of upland native woody plant species are occasionally needed to assist with restoration efforts of longleaf pine systems. PRCA has been conducting ecological restoration activities over the last several decades via contractual and in-house efforts by area staff, which has varied by location and priority. Contractual assistance will be vital for long-term stewardship activities. *NOTE: Bidder must download the bid document, including specifications, plans, etc. from the Attachments tab.
