Media Filter Rehabilitation for WTP Filters #1 & #2

Description

The City of Benicia’s Water Treatment Plant is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to rehabilitate two water treatment filters. The current project includes:Complete replacement of filter media — GAC, sand, and gravel — meeting applicable AWWA standards.Smoothing and recoating of the interior walls of the two filters.Inspection and, if necessary, repair of the filter underdrain system.The current RFP and resulting agreement will cover only two filters.The remaining four filters (#3–#6) are anticipated to be rehabilitated sequentially over the next four years, approximately every two years. Each future project will require a separate RFP process.In short: This RFP is for the complete rehabilitation of two filters now, with the remaining four filters planned for future rehabilitation.
