Low Floor Light Rail Demonstration Vehicles

Description

Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is soliciting Proposals from light rail vehicle manufacturers to design, manufacture, test, and deliver up to two light rail demonstration vehicles as follows: A base quantity of up to two (2) 120 ~ 135 feet Low Floor Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) and associated goods and services. Optional items include: Spare Parts, Training Aids, Training Labor, Special Tools, Diagnostic Test Equipment, Extended Warranties, and Modernized Vehicle Items, as appropriate. Please refer to Section 5, Technical Specifications, for more details on base and optional items, and refer to Section 6, Warranty, for warranty and extended warranty options. The Agency will accept Proposals for new LRVs and/or Modernized Agency Vehicles (an existing Agency vehicle that has undergone Modernization).  The Agency may award:i.    one contract for up to two new LRVs;ii.   one contract for up to two Modernized Agency Vehicles;iii.  one contract for both a new LRV and a Modernized Agency Vehicle; oriv.  two separate contracts – one for a new LRV and one for a Modernized Agency Vehicle; orv.   no contract.
