Please clarify how many schools are included in this solicitation and identify the locations where the lockers will be delivered and /or installed? Services will be requested on an as needed basis. Please reference I Purpose & Background, and II, Scope of Work, general requirements. 2. The specification identifies Republic as the basis-of-design manufacturer for the lockers. Would Newport News Public Schools consider Penco lockers as an approved equal, provided the lockers match the required style, size, and overall configuration, even though the available color options may be similar but not an exact match to the specified Republic colors? Response: The lockers shall be Republic or brand equivalent upon approval of Newport News Public Schools. Penco lockers may be considered for evaluation as an approved equal provided they meet the specified requirements for style, dimensions, construction, functionality, and overall configuration. Color options that are similar to, but not an exact match of, the basis-of-design Republic are subject to Newport News Public Schools' review and approval. The burden of demonstrating equivalency rests with the bidder, and complete product specifications and color information should be submitted with your bid for evaluation. 3. Corridor lockers use standard gauge and Gym/Locker room use heavy duty gauge. Should bidders provide pricing for both locker types as part of their bid? Please reference Fabrication-General #4, Products letters D-G. NNPS will consider bids for alternate products equal or better quality as stated on the cover of the IFB. Alternate products must also include descriptive literature/specification sheets to determine if the product Page 1 of 2 is an equivalent. Additionally, should bidders include pricing for accessories that may be sold separately, such as locks, sloped tops, filler panels, and locker bases where a concrete base is not provided?
