The City of Santa Cruz is soliciting proposals for Consulting Services (Services) for the Santa Cruz Living Shorelines, Nature Based Solutions and Sand Management Feasibility Study. The City of Santa Cruz is accepting proposals from qualified consultants (Proposer) to undertake research, analysis, modeling, design, cost estimating and other activities in evaluating living shorelines, nature-based solutions (NBS) and sand management techniques along the entire Santa Cruz coastline (bluffs and beaches) from the West end of West Cliff Drive at Natural Bridges State Beach to the the San Lorenzo Rivermouth. The selected consultant will participate in community engagement, prepare a Feasibility Study report in draft and final versions, maps, conceptual plans and profile designs and summarize outcomes of these activities, integrating them into the feasibility study and design tasks. As part of the feasibility study, the City will also hire a local ecologist who installed, maintains and monitors existing living shorelines and restoration projects in Santa Cruz. The ecologist will serve as the owner’s representative on the project ensuring expertise in local conditions and techniques.
