Lighting Assessment Services RFP

Description

The City of Vista regularly receives lighting requests from residents, businesses, and other sources. Many of the requests are related to the adequacy of safety lighting in public spaces, principally roadways within the City. The City owns and maintains about 3,650 streetlights, while SDGE owns and maintains about 550 streetlights, for a total of approximately 4,200 streetlights. To help address the backlog of street lighting requests the City is requesting qualified consultants to submit proposals to evaluate approximately 200 locations in the City for new or upgraded street lighting on existing power or light poles, with safety being a principal concern and economy of installation and long-term operations maintenance also a key consideration. The types of lighting under consideration are City-owned streetlights and SDGE-owned streetlights mounted on existing poles.The City will provide direction on the first 50 high priority locations, and is requesting completion of those assessments and initiation of SDGE processing within 60 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. The City is requesting completion of the full assessment package of the additional 150 locations and SDGE service requests submitted within 180 days from NTP. Consultant shall provide a proposed project schedule as part of their response to the RFQ.
