The Lead Renovation Repair, and Painting (RRP) Training Provider will work together with City of St. Pete (CSP) program staff, and partners of the Healthy Homes Community Coalition (HHCC), to provide equitable opportunities for contractors and community members to be trained in an EPA approved RRP course. Our goal is to have between 100 to 250 individuals participate in the EPA’s Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Training, and have at least 5 new contractors register with the City of St. Pete as a provider for lead control and abatement services.The City will collaborate with various local vocational training and workforce development programs, educational partners, general contractors, and construction professionals to recruit individuals interested in lead hazard training and become certified lead remediation professionals through approved courses from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Lead Reduction Program will promote these training opportunities through targeted community outreach to include marketing, social media promotions, engagement with general contractors and community partners to target Small Business Enterprises and ensure equity in procurement for all members of our community who want to do business with the City of St. Petersburg. Trainings will be offered quarterly, with a goal of training at least 25 community residents and contractors per quarter through the end of the grant funding period (November 1, 2026).
