Lakeland Electric Fire Protection Systems Inspections and Testing (including Fire Extinguishers)

Description

The CITY OF LAKELAND is seeking bids from qualified Fire Protection System CONTRACTOR (Florida Statue 633) to supply year-round Inspection services to the fire protection systems at our McIntosh, Larsen and Winston Stations.  This includes Quarterly, Semiannual, Annual and 5 year testing and inspections of Fire Protection Systems and all site Fire Extinguishers. Fire Systems include all Engineered Systems, Sprinkler Systems, AFFF Foam, Hydrants, Water Mist, Fire Pumps, Special Gases and Fire Alarm Panels / Detection Systems and Door Fan tests as required on the U5 Combined Cycle, M-Gas Turbine 1 and 2 and 2 Diesel Generators. This bid will also include 8 hours of hands on or classroom training per quarter with subject matter to be determined each quarter depending on needs. For the purposes of this bid, engineered systems include those systems using Clean Agent (FM200), CO2 or other dry or wet fire extinguishing agents, and HI-FOG Water Mist System.  Sprinkler systems include but are not limited to Deluge, Wet and Dry Pipe, Pre-action and AFFF. Standpipes, including hydrants and fire protection valves. Fire Alarm includes panels, components, devices and appliances. There are approximately Ten (10) sprinkler systems with 22 zones, one Hi-Fog Mist System, seventy-three (73) standpipes / hydrants, twelve (12) engineered systems and twenty-four (24) fire alarm panels and 240 Fire Extinguishers (Dry Chem, Purple K, CO2, and Wet Chem in kitchen areas and Cooling tower) between the 3 sites plus 24 spares located at City of Lakeland’s Power Plant properties.
